Bu belgede Linux işletim sisteminde MAC (Media Access Control address) adresinin değiştirilmesi anlatılmaktadır.

Örnek olarak eth0 ethernet kartınızın MAC adresini ab:cd:ef:11:22:33 olarak değiştirmek için aşağıdaki komut verilir.
# ifconfig eth0 down
# ifconfig eth0 hw ether ab:cd:ef:11:22:33
# ifconfig eth0 up
